Month 3 of Locs (Braidlocs)

Cliché Alert!  – TIME FLIES. It’s already three months since I’ve been loc’ed and so far, I am loving the experience. My hair has shrunken, swollen and started greying and I’m loving every bit of the changes.

I got my hair retightened for the third time by Marsha in Village Plaza in Halfway Tree, Kingston, Jamaica. Call Marsha if you’re in Jamaica at (876) 588-6560. She did an excellent job as always. I took pictures of my hair before and after the washing process.

If you’re looking to give your locs a good wash, Marsha is a good stylist to try too. The experience was fine. I was in an out of the salon in maybe 3 hours and on a Saturday, that’s pretty impressive since she was also colouring and styling someone else’s hair during this time.

At this point, my locs are actually starting to look like locs and I’m getting fewer questions about what my hairstyle is. LOL. I had some partial unravelling of locs in month 1 but I simply interlocked the ends (requested tutorial coming soon).

Over the last 3 months (especially the last 2), I had some issues with itchy and flaky scalp. You can watch the video to see what products I used or wait for the blog post detailing my proposed routine and personal solution for dry scalp.
