Sometimes you get the best locs hairstyles by simply combining techniques that you already know. I think most of us can do a flat twist or flat roll on our natural hair. It’s the same method on locs. Also, the fish tail is a popularly known style. Even if you don’t know it, it’s very, very easy to learn. This locs hairstyle was done on my cousin’s dreadlocks. See the written tutorial below or watch the video that follows to see a demo of the hairstyle.
How to – Flat Twist and Lobster Roll Locs Hairstyle
Step 1 – Start with straight, moisturised, clean hair. So, wash your hair and oil your scalp with a light oil and the length of your hair with your regular oil. This makes your hair look moisturised and lush. It makes a difference in the final result!
Step 2 – Part hair into two sections down the middle.
Step 3 – Flat twist or flat roll the hair down from top to bottom of the left section of hair and secure with a hair band.
Step 4 – Repeat this step with the right section.
Step 5 – Remove the hair bands (optional)
Step 6 – take the untwisted hair into one section and so a lobster plait (lobster plait). You can three strand plait the ends to keep the lobster braid secure.
Step 7 – Roll the ponytail under and secure with a pin. (You can also keep the lobster braid long or put it in a bun if your hair is very long).
Step 8 – Pin any loose locs in place.
Pretty simple, right?
