If you have small to medium sized locs, you can do a myriad of styles on your hair. One such style is Havana Twists. The style is essentially jumbo twists. Because of the amount of hair used, it is fairly easy to hide your locs in this hairstyle without y our hair being too heavy.

Solange Knowles is known for wearing these twists extensions on multiple occasions. If you are looking to get a different look for the winter, this is for you. Still, there are some things I’d like to remind you of:

  1. As you can see from the picture of Solange’s hair, you’ll need a lot of hair.
  2. Go for an inexpensive brand since you’ll need so much hair.¬†Although you can do this style yourself to save money (see video tutorial at the end of this post), you will be needing a LOT of hair. Select a cheaper and lighter brand to avoid the high cost and heavy weight.
  3. Wait until your locs are fully formed to do this style. It can retard the loc’ing process. If this doesn’t matter to you, ¬†go right ahead.
  4. If you’re a new loc’d, ppt for a silkier hair (like kanekalon) if you plan to wear this style for a while. You don’t want the artificial hair to start meshing with your natural locs.

That’s all folks. Without further adieu, check out the tutorial below to see how @DXLN on YouTube created her Havana Twists on loc’d hair.
